a u.s. indiepop band from chicago, il with sixties pyschedelia influence like no other i have heard before, dunno if it's a good or a bad thing, really. i believe "radio 1990" was the band's sole single on sunshine sheen records, a bit scarce i should add. don't really know when this particular record came out.. like the single itself, nowhere on the record nor the cover states the release year. but, hushdrops had an album called "volume one" circa 2004 so we know it's not from the nineties. so anyway i was streaming their album on last.fm and there were a few tracks that stands out from the aforementioned album, and emily was definitely a pleaser!
pls. support your local indie band, "volume one" mp3 and its entirety are still available for digital download at amazonmp3.
3rd single off the 1991 debut album "intastella and the family of people" on mca records, the band was active from the beginning of the nineties to about '97. inspired by the madchester scene, the quintet's musical forte consists of postbaggy-psychedelic-soul-funk-rock. led by vocalist stella grundy plus three members of the c86 group "laugh", martin wright, spencer birtwistle and martin mittler with rug-cutting bez, i mean lil' anthony in charge of shaking a leg!!
