martin clancy and the wpp - flat foot 12" remixes 2010

this is a numbered limited edition 12" uk release project from martin clancy, also known from his early days with the irish folk band "in tua nua". remember them??? 'seven into the sea' and 'somebody to love'? which was produced by the legendary ian broudie! well if you do.. this is a totally different single, best described as funky alternative and terminally groovy. hear for yerself!

blindside - idle eyes cd5 1993

second single from melbourne's very own indie/shoegaze band that was active from 1992-95. this oz quartet, not to be confused with the swedish post-hardcore group, was hamish cowan, chris smith, nick peeters and nick batterham (who was also in another independent band called "the earthmen"), released all three of their singles and an album on australian label summershine. here my friends was their sophomore release, it still sound awesome up to this day.. once in a while you go back to your old roots and you will find that some of the songs you've listen to over and over has been somehow a soundtrack of your life.

midway still - better than before cd5 1992

fourth single from now newly re-incarnated alternative uk outfit that was active in the early nineties(two albums and several singles), released under roughneck recording co., an indie label based in london, also a division of fire records that brought us early c86 talents such as close lobsters, spacemen 3, pulp just to name a few. midway still has just released a new album on bitter and twisted records called "the desert" earlier this year, hope to hear it soon. it just hasn't quite made it here in the usa yet.

devine & statton - hideaway 7" 1990

mancunian writer ian devine aka ian pincombe teamed up with alison statton formerly of new wave/indie act "young marble giants" and indie pop band "weekend" in the very early eighties. the two got together and managed to release a couple of albums thru Les Disques Du Crépuscule, named as one of the finest record label in europe. familiarity of band grew to most with their cover version of new order's blt plus some of their own singles including this gem. it a laid back sunday so why not listen to some calming tunes, yeah?!
