sounds british, eh?? well this three-piece canadian outfit truly brings back good memories from the eighties. good melody, really catchy tune and the hair, the haaaiir!! lol , nevermind the video.. its a classic new wave anthem altogether. speaking of anthem.. the record was released on ontario based independent label "anthemrecords". hate that the twelve inch ep version of this song is not much different from the seven inch release, but i've read somewhere that there was a uk release of this single on a 12" format. well, that remains to be seen!
marketed exclusively by dr. dream records, inc. for bandwest production in 1988 right here in our own backyard "orange" cali. the band is talently comprised of kevin bartley on lead vocals and guitars with david rule on bass and damien murray on bangings. it's a six song ep all written by kevin but one, 'like dust' is a cover originally by passion puppets. the record itself is very nice, a crossover between sad lovers & giants and the armoury show. "trust" surely is enough to melt someone's heart. word is, that they might be back to record old demos.. how cool is that!
one of the earliest artist to ever signed for el recordings, a sub-label of cherry red records, momus aka nick currie has been around since the 80s. with over two dozens of full length album releases, momus is still making and producing music up to this date. nothing really much have changed since his early singles from creation records, "murderers, the hope of women" era to "erase" his latest contribution from american patchwork. an experimental/europop overdose to say the least.
