drezniak - mesmoreyes 7" 1984

from twenty-eleven we go back to the mid-eighties with this dark but catchy single from a new wave/postpunk band from boston. formed in 1980, this quintet were still in high school when they started. inspired by the punk and the developing new wave scene at that time, it's no surprise their music shows a little bit of aggressiveness mixed with harmonious synth melodies uncommon to most.
band's line up: chuck white, dennis mccarthy, carmen marusich, tommy brosnan and paul i.

good one! i moved up here to Boston in late 1984, and saw Drezniak open up for Australian band The Church in November of '84...didn't know who the heck they were, but they were pretty good! I know drummer Dennis McCarthy was also in Boston garage heros The Prime Movers as well..thanks!

always glad to shed a little info if I have any.....any chance of a re-up for a latecomer of the Crystal Set "Thrive"45 you had some time ago, especially the song "Kicking Around"? love that tune, still have the vinyl, as well as all their other stuff!
