the family cat - steamroller 12" 1992

another miss in the early nineties, this one reminds me of just letting your hair loose, hanging out with your friends or just simply rockin' out. the band to my own opinion sounds between "power of dreams" and "world of twist". a four tack 12" ep that includes a beatles' cover.

bedazzled - teenage mother superior 12" 1991

this record contains two remixes and an extended version you won't find on the cd release plus one non-album track. ...great uk single it became one of the most listened tune in my ipod. catchy drumbeats and funky wah-wah guitar with vocals you can almost relate to, a perfect madchester recipe ya know. rave on!

daf - pure joy 12" 1986

daf, d.a.f. or deutsch amerikanische freundschaft however you wanna call it is not important this is synthpop with a swagger you dig! computer generated beats with drum machines is not bad considering the year the record was done. pure joy consists of repeated catchy synth riffs good enough to make anyone cut some rug.

just ahead...

few things i have to remember, i do sometimes post stuff not in the picture. these cds or records are hand-picked randomly from my collection and some are "una" (unsorted new arrivals) and some are whatever gives me an idea whether it's a post from another blog or a music i've heard on the radio that reminds me of the record or the cd it doesn't matter, format is overrated. i just wanna share you my collection and its entirety.

three hour tour - valentines day 7" 1992

this one is out on parasol in illinois same label that broke out white town's early recordings, strawberry story, girl of the world(which was featured as rsotm) and many more. the main song is a little bit on a mellow side, an indie serenade if you may. neither britpop nor a twee just straight up indie tracks. not my favorite either.

bag-o-shells - markers 7" 1988

they were basically paul chastain and ric menck who've met in the early 80's and recorded several singles under the names springfields and choo choo train together with darren cooper who also released a 7" under parasol called three hour tour, so the similarities are there. catchy melody and jangly guitar equals a good indiepop song.

twelve drummers drumming - we'll be the first ones 12" 1983

this is an excellent record and i almost let it slip away... i was a little bit skeptical about buying the record since i didn't know what to expect and it was way over my budget of 99cents (lol). but i guess i was meant to be, if it wasn't for the now hard-to-find moscow olympics cd i wouldn't have bought this. and now listening to this 12"..... it was a good buy. just having trouble finding someone to compare their music to.
two tracks, 12" version and extended live version

friends again - south of love 12" 1984

this import 12" is quite misleading. i wasn't going to post this but i realise that it's actually longer than the album version.. roughly 48 seconds longer. so it just got a little interesting, the b sides sounds like bowie, a little bit country, a little bit roc n' rol(the other track).

whirl - heaven forbid ep 1987

yet another unheard band from the eighties. a very c86-ish band from brighton and that's all i know. this is probably their 1st record judging from label infos. although there is another band also from the uk's september records just don't know if it's the same band. i really can't compare them to any band for they sound like no one i know. perhaps the clouds???

random single of the month

our feature band of the month came as a giveaway amongst many others, i think i've mentioned the goth_boy time and again but never thanked enough so djlerr thanx for all the hands me down, bro(hope to get more..).
the post, oh yeah.... a song from the b side i think is worth a listen, it's very laid back, raw and youthful with vocals like bradford's. this song was taken from their 1st single in 1992.
