this is the single of the month, a very interesting song, i won this one on ebay after buying the cherry red compilation cd. i don't quite know what/who they sound like but i'm sure some of you will find this one a very good song.
another great shoegaze act that totally blew me away, you have got to hear this band. an amazing display of atmospheric journey into space, a classic some might say... a quintet formed in the early 2000s or late 1990s fronted by phil macy and matt bartram who debuted his first solo cd in 2008 called "arundel". the cd will definitely take you flying high, just close your eyes and let music guide your senses to a deep and calming kaleidoscopic world of sonic paradise, i mean the whole works and all. i've added a couple of tracks to sample from the cd just to give you a taste of my own heaven.
the year was 1986, when dermot lambert, ellen leahy with the rest of the band recorded this exceptional single under the band's own empty shell label and was later released as rex & dino in 1987. so you think "thewee cherubs" 7" single is hard-to-find well this is a rare jewel, probably 494 times more scarce than that(and i can explain), if you think the mary onettes are one of the few new faces of dream pop... empty shell is pure bliss a total impression of dreammathuf***ingpop. and if you think the wild swans were awesome this quartet from dublin were just as and still is. man, this record is just about as rare as any out of print record out there!! i just have to say that this is a phenomenal 7". i just don't know how one band can pull something out so good and perfect like so! the first time i have heard the song it immediately became my favorite. it's just genuis....... the band was comprised of dermot lambert on vocals with ellen leahy on keyboards later became rex & dino but found more success as blink. nb, randy_b, mcdoo and goth_boy... you gotta listen to this! so sorry about the crackles and pops, it's nineteeneightysix ya'know!
this i thought were one of the bands among others that helped continued the fading shoegazing scene in the nineties if not saved them. occasionally relevant yet very original, just my opinion. kunin mo dito:
madchester, rave on! this was the scene, this is the scene. it can't get any better than this. who would have thought a band with very little success would sound so good!! this will take you back into time, believe you me! lawrence-max-eric...can you hear me now?!
oh yes it's that time of the month again. this month features something i got from amoeba in los angeles that i don't know much about. i got and bought the 12" ep not knowing what it sounds like. now i do this more seldom than often. it's kinda silly but most of the the time i end up spending money for nothing. but this one, i think i got my moolahs worth!!!
